Finally...the BANDS!

Our weekend started with the Wallflowers.  Jacob Dylan still looking good, although the band is showing some wear.

I think this is Ok Go.  They were good.

We really liked Walk the Moon. (This might be Imagine Dragons - they were a really good show).

Can't go wrong with a Cake concert.  (Saturday)
They are NOT boring.  You're all just too young to appreciate it.

On Friday we also saw Mayer Hawthorne and the County.
They were lots of fun, we just couldn't stay long because of all the weed.
We stayed for some of John Legend, but I was a little bored by that.
BassNectar...toooooo loud.

On Saturday, we started with Imagine Dragons - it was an excellent show.  No photos.
Then we heard some of Kids These Days (meh), Policia (meh), and Cults (not so bad).
We set up for GroupLove (they were just ok - I had hoped for more songs I knew).
Young the Giant was good, Cake was better, Modest Mouse was ok (not my style of tunes).
Took a break before The Killers - an excellent show.

Sunday morning er, afternoon came. We went to church and out to breakfast before going in.
Awolnation did a great job!  They crowd surfed, they encouraged moshing, and I knew
more songs than I thought I did!

I don't think we listened to Cold War Kids very long, and I napped through part of it.
We checked out the Dogfish Head Brewery before Michelle and Troy took off.

This was the closest we got to the stage for any performance besides the Wallflowers.
Death Cab for Cutie put on a good show, although pretty mellow.
The lead singer was "sick as f*ck" and still did well.
We met Margarita at this show and took her to Girltalk after.

As Brian Hufe said..."if Girltalk played in Newark every weekend, I'd lose 40 lbs."
I sweat so much dancing to Girltalk!  It was a blast.
We took off before the Black Keys, just because they weren't starting until 9:30pm.
We were attempting to be responsible adults :-)

...Notable Mentions

Between the taking of these two photos, he totally flexed, realizing he was the subject of my camera.  Too bad I wasn't taking photos at that moment.  In the back is Brian Hufe.  All I can think of when I see this is... "to the window!!!  to the wall!!!"

Love me some Buffalo peeps!  I also saw some Rochesterian gear during the festival.
So proud ya'll made the trip down to Dover!

These people were actually resting.  Not passed out like so many of the others.

Due to the proximity of the air force base...the balloons did not go very high.

She's carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders...
Do I get to push pins into all the places I've traveled to, or is that her acupuncturist's job?

Thanks to Michelle Cooper for pointing this one out.  You're trying to  be healthy with the banana...
but smoking will probably kill you anyway.

Don't wear a shirt unless you want people to take pictures of it.
This made me laugh so hard!

Ran into Caitlin Custer at the Cake Concert.  She was checked out at this moment. But she recovered.

Awol Nation requested everyone put their arm around the person near them.
Back in the seated crowd, these two were the only ones who followed through.
Super cute, guys :-)

Things you hope to never see in this world.  A woman's butt cleavage.

Or...when the skin folds over your dress.  It wasn't a bad look from the front!

'Merica. Patriotism. Yeah.

Troy and Michelle have USA chairs.  It helped find them in the crowd when returning from the Portable Potties.  This however, was just the tip of how present American spirit was this weekend.  There were giant flags in the campsites.  There were people wearing flag printed shirts, shorts, bandannas, and the like. There were people in sequins and face paint. There was even someone using Old Glory as a cape.  And then...this guy.

The Props

Hats are making a comeback for men and women.
Not only do they provide awesome sun protection for blondies like me,
but they are totally stylish.  Love the hat, courtesy of Troy's dad.

Somebody's gotta tell this guy dinos are dead.

Two things to note: 1. Masks were all over the place, but usually worn on the back of the head.
2. Lots of props on sticks so they could be seen in the crowds.  Reminded me of tour guides in Europe.

This was kind of neat, but I really can't see it being comfortable.
Wrap a strap around your body and sit with your knees to your chest.
Go for awkward.

We didn't have the heart to tell him it was upside down...
and when I came home, I found my own mustache collection!

Oh yeah, water buffalo unite!
Pair this guy with the snuggie suit guy and we're in the stone age.

Immediately after seeing this guy, I saw a shirt with a pharoah on it.
He must have been proud to be featured on mainstream t-shirts.

I was truly inspired to join the hula hoop fitness club at UD.
There were so many hula hoopers!  Some were really talented.
Some had light up hoops.
Some...had hoops that came in four pieces and a carrying case!!!

Reminded of he four boxes of expired Hamburger Helper in my cupboard...
I need to eat at home a bit more...

I love Tractor Supply.  I don't go very often, but am always pleasantly surprised when I do!

He wasn't dead, I promise.  The other guy I tried to wake up though...he was in rough shape.
Out of respect to his stupidity, I didn't take pictures of the guy curled up sleeping by the trashcan.

And this guy.  Harmonica Man.
Later on that evening, I'm pretty sure he said some crude side comments to Brian regarding my dancing...
